Beverage + Beauty + Oreos Product Photography

This week I did some outdoor product photography, and let me tell you, winter is on its way! I went to a place called Nature Park and used the blue skies and a tree for my products.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, let me take you to the products I decided to shoot. When I was at the dollar store getting supplies for another shoot, I saw a Sanpellegrino drink it looked delicious. The lemons and greenery on the can also made me think of how fun it would be to do a product shot with it. I got some greenery at the store (since there’s not a ton of that outside right now) and picked up some of my own lemons.

When  I got to the park, we tried a couple of different locations. There was ice on the lake so we tried some there (the can starting sinking leaving it’s print in the ice as it slowly molded into it. It was actually kind of cool, but didn’t get the shots we needed.) Next, we tried the grass, but as we were shooting there, I looked across the way and saw a tree and decided that would be the perfect spot. Luckily it was! So moral of the story–when life gives you lemons, put them in a tree (:

For this shoot, I used my sister’s Mary Kay lotion. I was excited to use this product because I love it’s named, “Paint the Sky.” I immediately knew I wanted to have it as one of my outdoor shots, lifted up to the sky.

Oreos are one of my all-time favorite foods and so I wanted to try a fun, creative shoot with them. I picked up a bright pink background from the dollar store and some packaged Oreos. I went outside on my porch to get the right lighting for it, and the placed a cup under the Oreos. After trying a few different options for placing the Oreos, I decided on this one.
