Faux Moonlight Shoot
For this shoot, I decided to go for a night walk and find the extraordinary in ordinary places. There wasn’t a lot of moonlight, so I cued a good playlist (necessary for all night photoshoot adventures (; ) and walked around, watching for what the campus lights spotlighted. One of the first things I saw was wheat. Lit up by the stadium lights, I got close so I could capture its gold against the night sky. I enjoyed moving around to find new angles and watching them sway in the night breeze.
I also came across these beautiful red fall leaves. The extraordinary outside an ordinary building surrounded by rocks. I lay down in the rocks anyways so I could capture this shot. I loved the classy deep red and how beautiful the leaves were up close and personal. I loved this assignment because it allowed me to look at things in a new way and realize that there is great beauty in the ordinary.
I think this is a great way to look at things in a new way for any creative. I found this great resource you can put in your back pocket for the next time you want to take some extraordinary shots in ordinary places.
Have a beautiful day,
